The Challenge

Our client is a Europe-based family office with over 30 years' experience investing across Europe, Africa, and North America. The firm has a strong track record of backing entrepreneurial platforms and scaling them into market-leading businesses. The client manages a multi-billion-euro global real estate portfolio and maintains long-standing relationships with leading global financial institutions and institutional capital partners.

The client was launching a new North American real estate investment platform, headquartered in the US, with the ambition for this to become its largest international growth axis. The strategy targeted an initial equity allocation in excess of €500m to be deployed across the US and the Caribbean. Our mandate was to support the establishment of the platform from inception, enabling the client to execute live investment opportunities while building a scalable, long-term organisation.

Our Solution

We worked closely with the client to define the organisational design and leadership requirements for a newly formed platform operating with an entrepreneurial mindset and institutional backing. Our approach focused on identifying hands-on, commercially astute leaders with strong North American transaction experience, the ability to operate across asset classes and investment structures, and the cultural alignment required to build a platform at pace.

The Results

We supported the appointment of a Partner to support the board to launch the North American platform. Having now transacted across the country across the hotel and co-living sectors, the new hire has provided immediate execution capability, established governance and investment discipline, and laid the foundations for long-term growth across the US and Caribbean markets.
